The road to Emmaus is a long walk with a stranger who seems not to have heard the news. It ends at a table, and in the breaking of bread their eyes are opened.
On World Communion Sunday we come to the table with whatever disappointments we carried here, and trust that Christ still makes himself known in an ordinary meal.
